What is the next big step we’re trying to take?
Design the next iteration of models for forming intentional communities, and help established intentional communities evolve, to disrupt patterns of harm and catalyze social transformation.
How are we doing that?
Along with our consulting work, we will begin a new round of research to identify critical issues facing communities across the movement, what resources will be most beneficial for new communities, and how to support existing communities in transforming themselves. This work may include projects such as the Community Check-Up, the Book of Mistakes, and regional community networking. This work will feed back into the Community Incubator and our effort to start a new community.
Community Incubator
In February, we moved into a house to work and live with others, and start living into our new IC.
This Community Incubator serves as the first step on our journey and a homebase to:
Focus on the work of creating a new community
Prototype models we’re developing and apply what we’re learning to our process of starting a new community
Offer consulting services and projects that will benefit the community movement
Build our community network through learning circles and workshops, as well as hosting guests and responsibly epic events
Cultivate deep friendships and intimacy while establishing our initial experience of living and working together
Community Makers Collective
We are part of an effort to start a new intentional community. Why start a new intentional community? The world needs more of them and we have a passionate calling to bring our creative joy to forming a new one.
As part of the Community Makers Collective, we will bring together the best of existing models and explore what’s missing in our effort to start a new intentional community that seeks to respond to the evolving set of problems we face in our broken and beautiful world.
